Shaohua Liu, Ph.D., associate professor, doctoral supervisor, director of the Intelligent Cyber-Physical System Research Laboratary, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, member of the China Cloud Computing Expert Advisory Committee, member of the China Promotion and Popularization Expert Committee, and expert reviewer of governmental project such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Project Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Cyberspace Administration of China, Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology.
Dr. Liu received his B.S degree and M.S degree from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China in 1998 and 2001, respectively. Then he received his Ph.D degree in Computer Science in 2006.
He was an Assistant Professor in Intitute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2001 to 2007. He has joined Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunictions as an Associate Professor since 2007.
He was principal investigator and technical co-ordinator in many projects including major national science and technology project, National Natural Science Foundation of China Major Research Program, Key projects of the pre research funds, Key technical foundation projects, 863 projects, Major Special Project for Artificial Intelligence in Sichuan Province, New R&D Institutions in Guangdong Province, European Union Framework projects, and many other national and international programs.
He served as the Secretary-General of the International Cooperation Project of the EU Framework Program "Europe-China Grid Inter-Networking (EC-GIN)", responsible for coordinating the project integration and testing work of 11 cooperative units from China, the United Kingdom, France, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Norway and other countries, and has been to the UK, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and other EU cooperation units for many times to work abroad. The implementation of the new communication protocol and GINTONIC software that takes into account fairness and efficiency improvement, the test bed across Eurasia and the Atlantic, the verification of the "killer app" application of mobile IPTV streaming media, and the promotion of the open source community, the research results passed the expert review of the EU organization and were evaluated as excellent. This project also won the special award of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China for EU scientific and technological cooperation.
He published over 100 papers in journals including Science China, conferences including IEEE VR and some books as author or co-author. He contributed to standardisation actives to IEEE IRTF, W3C HTML5, Khronos and IMT2030(6G) in computer network and semantic communication. He also served as TPC committee members in many international conferences. Last but not least, he won X10 innovation awards and some conferences' best paper awards.
