Dr. Yanni Ou, is currently an Associated Professor at the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. She received her PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University of Bristol, UK. She has been a senior research associate at High Performance Networks Group in University of Bristol from March 2016 to May 2018. She then has been a researcher at Nokia Bell Labs, Germany with the Fixed Networks Group between June 2018 and July 2021. From September 2021, she has become an associate professor at the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China, and is currently with the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Her research interests focus on the SDN and AI enabled optical networks, as well as the quantum information and networking, including their system and hardware realisation, network convergence technologies, and developments of network optimization schemes. She has published in high quality journals and conferences, and has contributed in EU patents, ITU-T and ETSI standarlisations, and has been involved in multiple large-scale EU FP7/Horizon2020, UK EPSRC,  and Germany BNBF funded projects. She has also served as the grant reviewer for EPSRC, the event officer in OSA Technical Groups of Optical Communication, the TPC co-Chair of IEEE conferences and the reviewer of IEEE/OSA journals.
