    Personal Profile

    Baiquan Su is a professor, doctoral supervisor. He is the founder and head of the Medical Robotics Laboratory at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He is a committee member of the Chinese Association of Automation's Committee on Tri-Co Robots, the Computer-Assisted Surgery Technology Branch of the Chinese Association for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, and a senior member of the Biomedical Engineering Society of China's Medical Robotics Engineering and Clinical Applications Branch. He completed his postdoctoral studies in biomedical engineering at Tsinghua University's School of Medicine and earned his PhD from Beihang University's Robotics Institute. His research focuses on medical robotics and interdisciplinary problems in medical engineering.


    He has led and participated in national and provincial-level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Major Research Program (Cultivation Project 91748103), the National Natural Science Foundation of China's General Program (62273055, 61573208), the Beijing Natural Science Foundation's Key Research Special Topic Project (Z170001-task 2), the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation's Special Funded Project (2015T80078) and General Program (2014M560985) et al. He has published over 40 papers in journals such as IEEE TBME, IEEE RA-L, SCIENCE CHINA Information Sciences, SCIENCE CHINA Technological Sciences, Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics-Transactions of the ASME, Journal of Intelligent & Robotic Systems, International Journal of Robotics and Automation, as well as conference papers at IEEE/RSJ IROS, IEEE ICRA, and others. He has authored one monograph published by Science Press and has been granted 16 invention patents. He has received several conference paper awards, including Best Paper Finalist (First author, WRC SARA 2021), Honorable Mentioned Award (First author, APCMBE 2014), Best Application Award (Co-author, 3M-NANO 2016), and Nomination of Outstanding Youth Paper Award (Supervisor, PIBM 2017). He is a Invited Session Chair of the World Robot Conference Symposium on Advanced Robotics and Automation (WRC SARA 2022, 2023, Beijing).


    He has supervised one graduate student who received an outstanding master's thesis award at the university level. He has also guided two undergraduate students who received Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Awards in Beijing and five who received Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Awards of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He has guided graduate and undergraduate students who won three the First Class Prizes in national competitions (the First Award in the 7th National College Student Biomedical Engineering Innovation Design Competition, the First Award in the 24th China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition, and the First Award in the 14th "Higher Education Cup" National College Student Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition-Mechanical Class Personal All-Around Award), as well as several first, second, and third prizes in provincial-level subject competitions. His graduate students have received three National Scholarships, one Xiaomi Top Grade Scholarship, two Outstanding Graduate Awards of Beijing Municipal, five Outstanding Graduate Awards of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and four other awards or honors.
